Agricultural Genetics Institute

The Agricultural Genetics Institute (AGI) is a centre under VAAS with a mission to develop better crop varieties through conducting basic and applied research in the field of genetics and plant biotechnology. AGI is the host of the joint cassava microbiology lab between CIAT-AGI-Riken. AGI has recently been responsible for receiving advanced breeding lines from CIAT-HQ for multiplication and distribution to breeding programs in Asia.
