Cassava Mosaic Disaeae has now been reported in Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand.
In Cambodia it has been offically confirmed in 12 Provinces with symptom reported in an additional two Provinces (Siem Reap and Pailin). This represented ALL the main cassava producing Provinces.
In Vietnam, CMD is now confirmed in 20 Provinces. The most recent report was from Thanh Hoa Province in Northern Vietnam in December 2019. This is likely to be the result of infected stems transported from further south.
By October 2019, the area of infected fields fields had reached almost 9,000ha across 12 Provinces.
